To gain knowledge is to gain power. Learning is essential to growth for without it we would be nothing. However, in the pursuit of this your ideals and beliefs will be challenged and therein lies many complications. Never mind the goal, what you seek from the start adds to your character. A man engages in war to protect what is most precious to him and also for his honor wherever it may be. At first he doesn't begin as an adult. A man is a child bred to know battle but first how he must protect himself. When training commences his arsenal is of his own instincts and devices. Test how natural he defends and counters, how well his offense and precision is, but most of all his courage, will and heart. The fundamentals are at his disposal, thus he must be taught. Through practice new techniques are formed and skills honed.
